This web site has been created to introduce and to develop the culture and the Portuguese tradition abroad.

It is not an obligation but a duty of all the Portuguese to maintain this so beautiful and old tradition.

The Portuguese Folk Group of Fribourg has been created in 1989 by a group of friends.

On October 5, 2003, the Portuguese Federation of Folklore and Ethnography in Switzerland has been created by Mr. Florêncio Carneiro who is the president and by six Groups of Folk including the Portuguese Folk Group of Fribourg. 

The Portuguese Folk Group of Fribourg represents the costumes, dances and singings only of Silva-Escura, commune of Sever de Vouga, region of Aveiro. 

This Folk Group has traveled a lot in order to show the value and the development of our tradition. We had the chance to travel in various countries of Europe such as Luxembourg, Germany, Italy, France, Portugal and without forgetting Switzerland where we traveled in various places.

The Portuguese Folk Group of Fribourg was, is and will be always of a good will to supply and thank themselves for the best form for your invitations.
